Eclipsing paris: designing a golden anniversary

An anniversary as monumental as a 50th Wedding Anniversary demands a grand celebration, but this London-based couple had only 48 hours to spare. Our goal was to stretch time and eliminate hassle, so the couple could focus entirely on each other. We arranged accommodation at The Paris Peninsula because they guarantee early arrival and late departure at no extra charge, transforming a two-night stay into three full days of leisure.
From small, intimate touches – such as sourcing a vintage wedding photo of the couple from the family to place on the table alongside favourite roses, we worked in tandem with the family’s wishes to truly enhance the opening night. Bypassing the main dining room, we arranged a secret rooftop table, bathed in the golden hour glow with private service and uninterrupted views of the Eiffel Tower as night fell. We took care of all accounts, banishing bills and prices so the couple could just indulge in the romance of the moment.
The following day, a private luxury launch on the Seine at sunset with his preferred Sancerre and her exact choice of a glass of Fever-Tree tonic and slice of lemon, was complemented by lunch 125 metres (410 feet) up the Eiffel Tower the next day. In keeping with the guests’ individual tastes, we created bespoke vegetarian menus with Michelin-starred Chef David Bizet using produce from his vegetable garden the first night and managing the handpicked wines alongside the director of the Jules Verne Restaurant in the Eiffel Tower for lunch.
From the moment our driver helped them off the train carriage at Gare du Nord, the couple enjoyed three effortless days amid the timeless beauty of Paris, always with their individual preferences at the forefront of every decision.
