William Goodacre

(MA HONS, WSET level 3)
Managing Director

Old Etonian and former alumni of Edinburgh and Bologna Universities, William Goodacre first earned his food and wine spurs in the early 90s riddling sparkling Ribolla in the Friuli for Manlio Collavini. Winning Cocktail Bartender of the Year 1992 he wooed life partner Victoria with the prize trip of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Cutting his teeth in travel he managed the UK’s nascent National Trust Travel Collection but despairing of the food and wine offerings, left to launch Tastes of Italy in 2000 promising to ‘Feast Your Senses’. 


Brough Gurney-Randall

(WSET level 4)

A specialist importer of fine wines at OW Loeb for more than 20 years, Brough Gurney-Randall made a career hunting down wine producers and writing vintage reports from the world’s leading vineyards.  He joined Tastes in 2017 to help others enjoy the great pleasure of fine wine at source; to meet people behind the label; to dine on their stories over great local cuisine.  Holding stocks bought judiciously over the years, we can – if necessary – throw in bottles that are no longer readily available locally.
